Open doors with the whole party ready
A doorway is a change in information and exposure. Enter new rooms when the team can respond, with movement and fallback actions available.

What should happen before opening a room?
Read the current objective and consider whether opening the next area is necessary now. Check the party’s position, hand readiness and unresolved threats. An isolated hero at the door may reveal enemies while the rest of the team is resting or several turns away. Where possible, finish urgent work in the current room and approach as a coordinated group.
How do you handle the reveal?
Leave enough of the opener’s turn to respond after the room appears. Inspect enemies, objectives, terrain and the special-rules panel rather than treating the new space as a standard kill room. Choose an initial fighting line that leaves allies room to enter. Decide whether to advance, withdraw toward the doorway or use ranged pressure. The correct choice depends on the revealed actions and objective, not the number of enemies alone.
What goes wrong most often?
A common failure is ending movement directly inside the doorway, making the opener a convenient target and obstructing friendly access. Another is sending summons toward the next room without a character ready to manage the door and subsequent positioning. Avoid using every flexible resource immediately before a reveal. If an objective requires speed, prepare the fast entry before opening rather than discovering afterward that every movement card is unavailable. After a difficult attempt, record which opening position gave the enemies the most free value.
Which references should you keep nearby?
Use the class library to understand your party, consult card economy when planning endurance, and open the world map between expeditions.
