Card economy: managing losses and exhaustion

Understand how your available cards limit endurance, and decide when a powerful loss action is worth spending.

Why does your hand determine endurance?

Your action cards are both your tactical options and your expedition budget. An ordinary action can return through a rest; a lost card is removed from that cycle. A strong loss action should buy a concrete advantage: a completed objective, several enemy turns prevented, or a dangerous room resolved before it becomes expensive.

How should you plan rests?

Check the cards that remain together, rather than counting only the next attack. Keep movement and a useful contribution available in the same round. Coordinate rest windows with allies before opening another door. A rest is less costly when nobody has exposed a new room or left an ally alone in danger.

How can you diagnose early exhaustion?

Review when cards were lost, which losses prevented damage, and whether several turns were spent moving without contributing. Fix positioning and wasted turns before assuming the class lacks stamina. Use the starting guide, compare your class, and revisit party composition.
