How do you identify a useful purchase?

Review the last mission and choose a concrete problem: missing a destination by one step, taking an avoidable attack or failing to land a critical hit. An item that reliably fixes that problem is easier to value than a damage bonus with an elaborate condition. Consider how frequently the tool will be available and whether using it competes with another equipment slot.

How do you fit it into a build?

Write out one normal turn using the item, including its timing and the action it modifies. Check whether it affects the character’s own action, an ally’s granted action or a summon; these are not necessarily equivalent. Read whether the item becomes spent or lost and how it can return. Test the combination in the digital interface before treating it as the foundation of a permanent build.

What should you verify before crafting?

Use the current digital Codex or crafting screen for the recipe, availability and upgrade prerequisites. Do not import a tabletop item number or a community nickname as proof of digital parity. Keep enough resources for an agreed outpost priority if the party depends on it. A rarely used item can still be a good answer to a specific scenario, but distinguish specialist equipment from everyday gear. After several missions, replace assumptions with observed use: how often did it activate, and did it change the outcome?

Which references should you keep nearby?

Use the class library to understand your party, consult card economy when planning endurance, and open the world map between expeditions.
